Davlan Engineering is seeking an experienced Machinist to join our team in the St. Louis area. We are a well-established precision machining company serving customers in defense, medical, industrial, and commercial markets. We are looking for machinists with experience in one or more of the following:
· Acme Gridley multi-spindle screw machines
· Tsugami or equivalent Swiss CNC lathes
· CNC Turning Centers
· Other precision turning equipment with similar capabilities
Candidates with strong machining fundamentals and a willingness to learn additional equipment are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
· Set up and operate screw machines, Swiss CNC lathes, or CNC turning centers.
· Produce precision components that meet customer specifications and quality requirements.
· Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and inspection requirements.
· Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gauges.
· Make offsets and minor program or tooling adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.
· Monitor tooling wear and replace tooling as needed.
· Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.
· Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
· Work closely with supervisors, programmers, engineering, and quality personnel to continuously improve processes.
Qualifications
· Minimum of 2 years of machining experience required.
· Experience operating one or more of the following:
o Acme Gridley multi-spindle screw machines
o Tsugami or equivalent Swiss CNC machines
o CNC turning centers
· Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T is preferred.
· Experience using precision measuring equipment.
· Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
· Reliable attendance and positive work ethic.
· Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
Preferred Experience
· Multi-spindle screw machining
· Swiss CNC programming or setup
· Fanuc controls
· Tooling selection and optimization
· Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement
· Experience producing close-tolerance precision components
