The Senior Test Technician supports the alignment and testing of complex scientific instruments within the Chemical Analysis Division in Madison, Wisconsin. This role helps achieve production goals within a work cell while collaborating with team members to solve problems and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete alignment and testing of assemblies and scientific instruments to ensure all quality standards are met.
- Follow work instructions for mechanical assemblies, electrical assemblies, optical assemblies, material handling, and inventory verification.
- Communicate effectively with team members and contribute to a positive team culture.
Environment
- Chemical Analysis Division manufacturing and production environment.
- Standard Monday through Friday work schedule.
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds without assistance.
- Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required, including safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs, and other required protective equipment.
- May require exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally.
- May require exerting up to 25 pounds of force frequently.
- May require exerting up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Preferred
- Proven experience with test result analysis in manufacturing.
- Proven experience with mechanical assembly.
- Experience using various hand tools.
- Soldering experience.
- Demonstrated success as a trainer and peer leader.
- Experience as a Test Technician, Manufacturing Technician, Production Technician, Instrument Technician, or similar manufacturing professional is highly relevant.
