Overview
Tomato Garden Pizza & Restaurant is looking for dependable and motivated Kitchen Help / Kitchen Staff to join our team.
This position involves assisting with food preparation, keeping the kitchen clean and organized, and supporting our cooks during busy service periods. We are looking for someone who works well with others, can keep up in a fast-paced restaurant environment, and is willing to learn.
Previous kitchen or restaurant experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person.
Duties
- Assist with food preparation, including slicing, chopping, portioning, and assembling ingredients
- Help prepare menu items and ingredients for daily service
- Safely operate basic kitchen equipment
- Keep workstations, utensils, equipment, and kitchen areas clean and organized
- Follow proper food handling, storage, sanitation, and food safety procedures
- Assist cooks and other kitchen staff during busy periods
- Help with dishwashing, garbage removal, and general kitchen cleaning when needed
- Restock ingredients and supplies
- Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties
- Communicate and work effectively with the rest of the kitchen team
Qualifications

- Able to work well as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions
- Previous restaurant, pizzeria, kitchen, or food preparation experience is preferred but not required
- Experience with knives, slicers, ovens, mixers, and other kitchen equipment is a plus
- Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices is preferred
- Evening and weekend availability is preferred
Pay
Starting pay is $16.00 per hour.
Higher starting pay may be offered based on previous kitchen experience, skills, and ability.
Part-time and full-time positions are available.
