We are seeking dependable and experienced Solar Technicians to support a large-scale commercial solar project. Technicians will work as part of an assigned field crew under the direction of a Foreman or designated crew leader and will be responsible for completing assigned work areas while meeting daily and weekly expectations for productivity, safety, quality, testing, and documentation.
This position requires teamwork, adaptability, attention to detail, and a willingness to rotate between responsibilities based on project needs, field conditions, and individual strengths. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, technically capable, comfortable working at heights, and willing to contribute wherever needed to help the crew meet or exceed its goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively as part of an assigned solar field crew.
- Follow daily instructions, production goals, safety expectations, and assignments provided by the Foreman.
- Complete work within assigned solar arrays and work areas according to project plans, technical requirements, and approved procedures.
- Rotate between crew responsibilities as directed and accept changes in assignments based on field conditions, production needs, and demonstrated skills.
- Assist with the removal, relocation, replacement, and installation of solar components.
- Support general electrical connections and reconnections within the employee’s training and authorization.
- Perform solar wire management in a clean, secure, organized, and plan-compliant manner.
- Assist with equipment preparation, material staging, component organization, and work-area setup.
- Use approved electrical testing equipment to verify system conditions and identify potential issues.
- Perform voltage, continuity, and other required electrical testing when properly trained and authorized.
- Assist with identifying components or sections of the system that may not be operating or reporting correctly.
- Accurately record testing results, equipment information, production quantities, and field observations.
- Photograph completed work, equipment conditions, testing results, and identified deficiencies.
- Complete required reports, checklists, testing logs, and production documentation accurately and on time.
- Immediately report damaged components, unusual readings, safety hazards, quality concerns, or installation issues to the Foreman.
- Verify that completed work is secure, organized, properly documented, and ready for inspection.
- Maintain control of tools, materials, testing equipment, and assigned project property.
- Keep work areas clean and organized and protect roofing surfaces, solar equipment, electrical components, and surrounding property.

Required Qualifications:
- Previous hands-on experience in solar installation, electrical work, commercial construction, or a related field.
- Practical understanding of photovoltaic systems and common solar components.
- Familiarity with solar wire management, connectors, electrical connections, or system testing.
- Ability to safely use common hand tools and electrical testing equipment.
- Ability to follow technical instructions, layouts, diagrams, and field plans.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to record information accurately.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and rotate between different responsibilities.
- Ability to accept direction, coaching, performance feedback, and changes in assignment.
- Ability to recognize and report damaged, defective, or incorrectly installed equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced field environment while maintaining safety and quality.
- Dependable attendance, reliable transportation, and effective English communication.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience on commercial or utility-scale solar projects.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Forklift, aerial-lift, scissor-lift, or telehandler certification.
- Fall-protection training and First Aid/CPR certification.
- Experience with photovoltaic testing, troubleshooting, photo documentation, or digital field reporting.
- Electrical apprenticeship, electrical-license experience, or relevant technical training.
- Experience working on commercial rooftop solar systems. Preferred certifications are considered an advantage but are not required unless specifically stated during the hiring process.
General Project Requirements:
- Authorization to work in the United States and ability to provide valid identity and employment-authorization documentation.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from the assigned work location.
- Ability to provide current vehicle insurance and registration when required.
- Ability to comply with applicable background-screening, project-access, confidentiality, and information-security requirements.
- Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions and on rooftops or elevated work areas.
- Ability to work safely at heights while using required fall-protection equipment.
- Ability to climb ladders and access approved lifts or elevated platforms.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and perform repetitive construction tasks.
- Ability to lift and carry tools, materials, testing equipment, and solar components.
- Ability to work around electrical equipment only within the employee’s training, authorization, and assigned responsibilities.
