Position Overview:
Catholic Central School is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and faith-filled individual to serve as a Teacher’s Aide in our Pre-K/Kindergarten classroom. This position plays an essential role in supporting our youngest learners in a safe, structured, and joyful learning environment. Working under the guidance of the classroom teacher, the aide helps ensure each child’s academic, emotional, and spiritual growth in keeping with the mission of Catholic education.
Responsibilities:
- Support the lead teacher with instructional activities, including small-group and one-on-one learning.
- Assist in supervising students to ensure safety and positive behavior throughout the school day (including during arrival, dismissal, lunch, and recess).
- Help with daily routines such as snack time, toileting, transitions between activities, and nap/rest time (if applicable).
- Prepare classroom materials and help maintain an organized, clean, and engaging learning environment.
- Foster a welcoming and respectful classroom atmosphere that reflects Gospel values.
- Promote and model respectful, developmentally appropriate behavior and communication.
- Observe and report student behavior and progress to the classroom teacher as needed.
- Collaborate with staff members and contribute to a positive team environment.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards at all times.
- Participate in required trainings and professional development as requested.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working with young children in a classroom, childcare, or parish setting preferred.
- A patient, nurturing demeanor and a genuine love for working with children.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to support and promote the mission and values of Catholic education.
- Must meet Diocesan Safe Environment requirements, including background check and Mandated Reporter training.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
