The successful candidate will conduct research to evaluate gene drive systems for the suppression of the New World screwworm. Responsibilities include designing, planning, conducting, and interpreting genetic experiments in consultation with Dr. Scott. The individual will collaborate closely with other members of the screwworm gene drive research team, including Dr. Yadav and Ms. Belikoff, to achieve established monthly project milestones.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate and detailed laboratory notebooks, ensuring compliance with all laboratory protocols, and adhering to all biosafety and containment requirements for gene drive insects. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute effectively in a collaborative research environment while maintaining the highest standards of scientific integrity, data management, and laboratory safety.
