Masis is hiring a Fish Cutter to safely and efficiently clean, fillet, portion, and prepare fish/seafood products to customer and quality specifications at our Fall River location. This role works in a cold, fast-paced production environment and requires strong knife skills, attention to detail, and commitment to food safety.
- Cut, trim, fillet, portion, and debone fish according to specs (weight/size/customer orders)
- Inspect seafood for quality, freshness, and defects; remove skin, bones, scales, and waste
- Operate hand tools and equipment such as knives, scales, band saws (if trained), and vacuum sealing/packaging tools
- Maintain yield and portion accuracy; minimize product waste
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards (HACCP, GMP, USDA/FDA guidelines as applicable)
- Keep work area clean: sanitize tables, knives, bins, and equipment on schedule
- Package and label products correctly; stage finished product for shipping/cold storage
- Work as part of a team to meet daily production goals
- Report safety hazards, equipment issues, or quality problems to the supervisor
- Prior experience as a fish cutter, meat cutter, seafood processor, or production cutter preferred (will train the right candidate)
- Comfortable using sharp knives and working with raw seafood
- Ability to work in cold and wet environments with strong odors
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive cutting motions
- Able to lift and move up to 50 lbs (with or without reasonable accommodation)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written/verbal instructions
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
