Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Medical Director - Physician to lead clinical operations, uphold healthcare standards, and drive quality improvement initiatives within our organization. This pivotal role combines clinical expertise with strategic leadership, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and industry standards. Responsibilities
- Provide medical leadership across clinical departments, ensuring adherence to hospital policies, NCQA standards, and healthcare compliance regulations such as HIPAA and FDA regulations.
- Oversee the development and implementation of clinical protocols, treatment guidelines, and quality improvement programs to enhance patient outcomes.
- Supervise medical staff, including physicians and allied health professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning, teaching, and professional development.
- Manage medical records, electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), and ensure accurate documentation aligned with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Lead clinical research initiatives, supporting studies that advance medical knowledge and improve treatment options while ensuring compliance with research protocols.
- Collaborate with administrative teams on practice management, budgeting, resource allocation, and strategic planning to optimize operational efficiency.
- Ensure healthcare management practices align with drug enforcement administration (DEA) regulations, healthcare accreditation standards, and managed care policies.
Experience
- Extensive post-residency experience in a clinical setting with proven supervisory or management roles in hospital or healthcare environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in EMR/EHR systems management and electronic health records (EHR) management to streamline patient data workflows.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and clinical development processes essential for effective treatment planning.
- Proven track record in clinical research activities, including designing studies, data analysis, and publishing findings in reputable journals.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams within a hospital or large healthcare organization with a focus on quality improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards such as NCQA standards, HIPAA regulations, FDA guidelines, and utilization management practices.
- Skilled in project management, strategic planning, teaching roles in academic settings or professional development programs, and executive leadership responsibilities related to medical practice oversight.
