Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Support clients with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring proper nutrition
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to track health status
- Help with medication reminders and ensure safe client lifting practices using manual handling techniques
- Engage clients in social activities, companionship, and recreational programs to foster mental stimulation and emotional well-being
- Maintain cleanliness of client rooms and common areas in accordance with health standards
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care plans and address individual needs
Skills
- Prior experience in home healthcare, assisted living or nursing home environments is preferred but not necessary
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, and memory care techniques
- Ability to assist with complex care needs related to geriatrics and long-term care settings
- Proficiency in vital signs measurement, medication reminders support, and basic first aid/CPR certification
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and teamwork
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate standard passenger cars for transportation needs
