Position Title: Lead Pharmacy Technician

Pay Range: The expected base pay for the position is $24.03 -$33.65 per hour and may be increased based on other factors, such as language, certifications, etc.
Primary Function:
Lead Pharmacy Technician is responsible for leading a team of Pharmacy Technicians, while ensuring operational activities are carried out smoothly in the Pharmacy. The Lead Pharmacy Technician provides administrative support to the Pharmacy Director and Pharmacist on duty.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- The Lead Pharmacy Technician is responsible for all regular functions of the pharmacy technician role.
- Train all Pharmacy Technicians, Interns and Drivers on Pharmacy software, UCC’s Electronic Medical Records System, IVR, pharmacy register, PARATA, and other related tools/programs.
- Support staff in their training and learning duties of their respective positions.
- Answer any questions Pharmacy Technicians, Interns, or Drivers may have and assist in performing more specialized procedures.
- Schedule Pharmacy Technicians, Interns, and Drivers, finding replacements for staff that are absent from the schedule (due to planned or unplanned absence) and ensure shift changes run smoothly.
- Place daily medication and supply orders.
- Assist the Pharmacy Director in preparing and organizing Pharmacy for insurance audits.
- Perform monthly 340B internal audit under the supervision of the Pharmacy Director and Compliance Director.
- Perform other duties as required by the position or as assigned by the Pharmacy Director.

Minimum Basic Knowledge:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Nationally certified as a Pharmacy Technician.
- 1-2 years of pharmacy technician experience in retail or community health center pharmacy.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Demonstrated proficiency in all areas of technician duties.
- Previous pharmacy experience in a retail or FQHC pharmacy.
- Compliance with company, local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and policies.
- Ability to implement trainings created by Pharmacy Director for Pharmacy Technician, Interns, and Drivers.
- Possess technical knowledge of all pharmacy equipment, outpatient dispensing, and clerical and purchasing skills.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to function in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of transitions.
- Serve as a role model by demonstrating organization’s values.
- Ensure and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, Cape Verdean Creole or Portuguese preferred.
