The Manor Montessori School is an authentic Montessori learning community dedicated to nurturing the whole child—intellectually, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. Located in Potomac, MD, we serve children from ages 2-9 in a warm, respectful, and engaging environment that celebrates diversity and fosters independence.
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Spanish Teacher to join our faculty for the Preschool and Lower Elementary levels (ages 4–9). The ideal candidate will be fluent in Spanish and have experience working with young children, preferably in a Montessori or similar child-centered setting. This position involves teaching Spanish through immersive, engaging lessons that integrate language with culture, music, movement, and play.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the curriculum standards and cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Educate students in various subjects including Math, reading, and science while integrating special education strategies as needed.
- Provide individualized tutoring and support to help students achieve their academic goals.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and promotes childhood development.
- Collaborate with library services to enhance learning resources available to students.
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Assess student performance through various evaluation methods and provide constructive feedback.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices.
Skills
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Experience in lesson planning and curriculum development tailored for elementary education.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development theories.
- Ability to work effectively with students requiring special education support.
- Familiarity with tutoring techniques that enhance learning outcomes for diverse learners.
- Experience in private school settings is a plus but not required.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
