Role Overview:
As a BOH Utility Worker, you play an essential role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and operational efficiency of the kitchen and back-of-house areas. You will support the culinary team by ensuring all kitchen equipment, utensils, dishes, and workspaces are cleaned and sanitized to the highest standards while assisting with general kitchen maintenance and organization.
The BOH Utility Worker is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient working environment by following company policies and all local health and sanitation regulations. This position requires strong attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Main Responsibilities:

- To clean and maintain bathrooms every hour.
- To deliver and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and professionalism at all times.
- To wash, sanitize, and properly store all dishes, glassware, silverware, cookware, kitchen utensils, and equipment.
- To maintain cleanliness of all kitchen workstations, floors, walls, storage areas, walk-in refrigerators, freezers, and other BOH areas.
- To safely operate dishwashing equipment and maintain proper chemical levels and temperatures.
- To ensure all garbage, recycling, and compost are disposed of properly and removed regularly throughout the shift.
- To maintain clean and organized storage areas, ensuring shelves and equipment are properly arranged.
- To ensure cleaning schedules are completed accurately and on time.
- To maintain all cleaning equipment and immediately report any maintenance or equipment issues.
- To support kitchen opening, service, and closing procedures.
- To assist with deep cleaning projects as scheduled.
- To ensure all chemicals are stored, labeled, and used according to safety guidelines.
- To adhere to company standards of cleanliness, food safety, sanitation, and presentation.
- To comply with all local health department regulations and company food safety policies.
- To ensure all potential and real hazards are reported and reduced immediately.
- To ensure employees work safely and do not harm themselves or others.
- To anticipate possible hazards and take corrective action to prevent accidents.
- To maintain the highest standards of personal hygiene, appropriate uniform, appearance, and conduct.
- To work collaboratively with all Front of House and Back of House team members.
- To carry out any other duties as directed by management.
- To complete all required training and study the Employee Handbook and Food Safety guidelines.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
- Walk and stand for extended periods.
- Bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch frequently.
- Reach overhead and below waist level.
- Push and pull carts, racks, and equipment.
- Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Carry heavy trays, dish racks, and kitchen equipment.
- Perform repetitive bending, lifting, twisting, and reaching.
- Work in hot, humid, wet, and fast-paced kitchen environments.
- Safely handle cleaning chemicals and sanitizing products.

Required Experience:
- Previous experience in a restaurant kitchen, stewarding, dishwashing, or utility position preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain one as required by local regulations).

Pay: $22.00 per hour
