American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a fast-paced Emergency Department position in Charlotte, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and a full suite of emergency certifications.

Work in a 34-bed Emergency Department (plus 32 vertical care areas) at a 130-licensed-bed hospital designated as a Stroke Center
-
High-volume unit seeing 200+ patients per day across all age groups

Patient population includes heavy trauma stabilization (GSW, stabbings), mental health, substance use, and all typical ED diagnoses (stroke, chest pain, DKA, respiratory illness, etc.)

Typical RN patient ratio is 1:4
-
12-hour day shifts, 0700–1900, 36 hours per week

Every other weekend rotation required

No on-call responsibilities
-
Floating required to all facilities within Region 1 (Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Freestanding EDs within the region, Lake Norman, and Central Division including CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH) — candidates unwilling to float should not apply

EMR: Epic (experience required)

Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips monitors

Active NC RN license or compact RN license currently in hand

Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI

TNCC preferred
-
Minimum 2 years of ED RN experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
-
Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation, critical care drips, PIV starts, TNK/TPA administration, and conscious sedation
-
Ability to care for both adult and pediatric patients in emergency settings
-
Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration

Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
-
Candidates must reside 50+ miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
-
Departmental support includes CNAs, a receptionist, and a charge nurse
-
Orientation consists of NEO plus 2 days of departmental orientation
-
Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays
-
Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays; any missed contracted hours must be made up by extending the contract end date

Schedule is planned on a 6-week cycle

Navy scrubs required
