The Business Development Manager is responsible for generating new business opportunities, developing new client relationships, securing service agreements, onboarding clients, and managing accounts during the first fourteen (14) months of the client lifecycle. This role serves as the primary point of contact for newly acquired clients and is responsible for establishing long-term partnerships while driving revenue growth across commercial landscaping, snow removal, irrigation, enhancement, and related property maintenance services.

Key Responsibilities
- Identify, pursue, and secure new commercial landscaping, snow removal, irrigation, enhancement, and property maintenance opportunities.
- Conduct prospecting activities through networking, referrals, cold outreach, industry events, and strategic business development initiatives.
- Build relationships with property managers, facility managers, HOA boards, commercial real estate professionals, business owners, and other key decision-makers.
- Perform site assessments to identify client needs, operational challenges, and opportunities for service improvements.
- Prepare and present estimates, proposals, service agreements, and property improvement recommendations.
- Develop customized solutions for landscape maintenance, snow and ice management, irrigation services, enhancements, seasonal color programs, tree care, and construction-related projects.
- Negotiate contracts and secure new business opportunities that align with company growth objectives.
- Manage newly acquired accounts during the first fourteen (14) months of service, ensuring a positive client experience and successful onboarding.
- Coordinate with Operations teams to ensure service expectations, project timelines, and client commitments are properly communicated and executed.
- Conduct routine client meetings, property walks, and service reviews to identify additional revenue opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to expand services within newly acquired accounts, including enhancements, irrigation upgrades, landscape improvements, snow services, and other value-added offerings.
- Maintain accurate sales activity, pipeline management, forecasting, client records, and account documentation within company systems.
- Facilitate a seamless transition of accounts to the Account Management team following the designated account development period.
Account Ownership & Transition
- Owns the client relationship from contract execution through the first fourteen (14) months of service.
- Responsible for onboarding, relationship development, account growth, service expansion, and the first contract renewal.
- Collaborates with the Account Manager to ensure a successful transition of the client relationship following the account development period.
- Provides complete account documentation, client history, operational considerations, and growth opportunities during the transition process.
Performance Expectations
Performance is evaluated through established business development objectives, prospecting activity, client acquisition, revenue generation, proposal activity, account growth, customer retention, contract renewals, and other key performance indicators established by the Company.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years of outside sales, business development, account management, or related experience.
- Commercial landscaping, snow removal, facility services, construction, property management, or related industry experience preferred.
- Strong prospecting, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience preparing estimates, proposals, and service agreements.
- Proficiency with CRM software, Microsoft Office, and business reporting tools.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly to client sites.
Pay: $105,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
