The Kent Intern-in-Service program is a ten-month campus ministry initiative geared towards recent college graduates who seek to grow personally, professionally, and spiritually, and to support the mission of the CSC. Key aspects of the program:
Formation: Our goal is to develop self-aware, professional leaders ready to live the gospel through monthly group formation meetings, one-on-ones with a staff supervisor, spiritual direction, and designated time each week for spiritual and personal growth.
Service: To give of oneself is the definition of this Internship. Interns give their time and energy to serve students at Washington University and provide students with an example of what it means to be a Christian servant leader.
Community: The internship provides an intentional living community through housing and emphasizes prayer, bonding, and community planning.
Leadership: Interns are role models to the students they serve. Professional formation throughout the year cultivates strength and awareness in areas that need development. Ongoing training and a team environment are crucial to transitioning into professional careers.
The Catholic Student Center at Washington University is a house of formation and a community of hospitality for students of any or no faith. Our dream is that every student who encounters the Catholic Student Center Community is known, loved, and cared for. We will walk with them in the way of Christ to deepen their capacity for giving and receiving love and to grow into compassionate, courageous leaders. We want students to go into the world healthier, happier, and holier.
