Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dependable Day Shift Porter to join our dynamic facilities team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our commercial or residential properties during daytime hours. Duties
- Perform comprehensive cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal to uphold high sanitation standards.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and carpet cleaners to ensure optimal performance.
- Handle chemical agents safely by following proper handling procedures and safety protocols to prevent accidents or contamination.
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards and report issues promptly.
- Assist with light maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting touch-ups, and replacing fixtures to support overall building upkeep.
- Support custodial operations by heavy lifting of supplies and equipment using safe lifting practices to ensure efficiency and injury prevention.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing tenant or visitor inquiries courteously and professionally while maintaining a positive environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in cleaning, janitorial work, or custodial services within commercial or residential settings.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment including floor buffers, vacuums, and other custodial tools.
- Knowledge of chemical handling safety procedures and sanitation best practices to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while adhering to safe lifting practices.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify maintenance issues early and communicate effectively with management.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor when interacting with tenants or visitors.
- Prior experience in facilities maintenance or industrial cleaning is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
