Senior Accountant
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and hands-on experience with Sage accounting software. This role will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, payroll processing, accounts payable and receivable.
Key Responsibilities

Manage daily accounting operations including general ledger maintenance and account reconciliations

Process and oversee payroll accurately and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

Ensure timely filing and payment of payroll taxes, sales taxes, and other business taxes

Maintain compliance with New York State accounting laws, labor laws, and reporting requirements

Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax professionals as needed

Monitor cash flow and assist with financial planning

Maintain accurate financial records and documentation

Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy

Support ownership and management with financial reporting and special projects
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience

Strong working knowledge of Sage accounting software required

Experience with payroll processing and payroll tax reporting

Thorough understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable procedures

Knowledge of New York State accounting regulations and tax requirements

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications

CPA certification preferred but not required

Experience working in construction, property management, or service-based industries is a plus

Experience with multi-entity accounting and job costing preferred
