REMOTE Federal Court Briefing Attorney for Social Security Disability Appeals

Start date: June/July 2026 (flexible). We will review applications on a rolling basis.
Salary range: $100,000-$125,000 depending on experience. Performance-based bonuses and/or a health stipend may be available. Paid time off after probationary period.
Your responsibilities:
- thoroughly review SSA’s administrative record of proceedings (often thousands of pages long, with complex medical records)
- conduct legal research to identify and persuasively argue errors in SSA’s decision
- draft the initial brief, as well as any other substantive filings regarding the merits of the case (e.g., reply briefs, objections to magistrate judges’ reports and recommendations)
- contemporaneously maintain time records for use in attorney fee petitions
- no client contact or court appearances required
- must be self-motivated and capable of working independently
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
- Licensed to practice in Georgia or able to expeditiously become licensed in Georgia via reciprocity (please confirm your state bar admissions in your application)
- Demonstrated excellence in legal research and writing
- At least 3 years’ experience working as an attorney in the U.S.
- 1 year of experience in drafting briefs for use in federal court cases OR clerking for a federal court judge
