Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures with precision and care.
- Perform animal restraint using safe and humane techniques to facilitate examinations and treatments.
- Conduct laboratory work including blood draws, sample collection, and processing diagnostic tests such as radiology diagnostics.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments accurately following veterinary protocols.
- Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety through vigilant veterinary anesthesia monitoring.
- Operate medical equipment such as X-ray machines, dental units, and laboratory analyzers with proficiency.
- Maintain detailed records of animal health, treatments, laboratory results, and client communications using veterinary software.
Qualifications
- Proven kennel experience with animals of various sizes and temperaments.
- Strong understanding of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy.
- Experience in dental terminology and performing pet dental care procedures.
- Knowledge of animal husbandry practices and emergency medicine protocols.
- Skilled in IV insertion, vascular access, phlebotomy, and animal catheterization techniques.
- Hands-on veterinary critical care experience including intensive care management.
- Ability to handle dogs confidently and perform animal restraint safely in high-pressure situations.
- Familiarity with general anesthesia administration and monitoring during surgical procedures.
- Experience operating diagnostic radiology equipment including X-ray machines.
- Excellent client communication skills to explain procedures and provide pet care guidance effectively.
