Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Life Skills Trainer to empower individuals with diverse needs to achieve greater independence and confidence in their daily lives. Duties
- Develop tailored life skills training plans for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and other disabilities, focusing on areas such as self-care, social skills, and daily routines
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
- Support clients during community outings, transportation, and recreational activities to enhance social integration
- Collect and document progress data regularly to monitor development and adjust training approaches accordingly
- Administer medication as prescribed and maintain accurate medication administration records in compliance with safety protocols
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, behavioral health professionals, and educators to ensure consistent support and communication
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or behavioral health needs is highly preferred
- Knowledge of special education principles and behavior management techniques
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is a plus for effective communication with clients who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong communication skills to engage clients effectively and collaborate with team members
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for community outings and home visits
- Home & community care experience is desirable, especially assisting with ADLs and caregiving tasks
- Ability to collect accurate data, maintain detailed records, and follow safety protocols for medication administration
- Background in social work or related fields enhances your ability to support clients holistically

Pay: $60.00 - $75.00 per hour
