Substance Abuse Counselor

We are seeking a dedicated Substance Abuse Counselor to provide community-based support and clinical intervention for individuals navigating recovery. In this role, you will work directly with clients to develop sustainable recovery plans, facilitate evidence-based therapy, and bridge the gap between clinical treatment and everyday community life.
What You’ll Do
- Assessment & Intake: Evaluate clients' readiness for treatment and identify factors affecting their recovery.
- Individual & Group Counseling: Facilitate sessions using evidence-based practices. Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Community Integration: Coordinate with local resources, employers, and family members to build a strong support network for each client.
- Documentation: Maintain timely and accurate progress notes in Electronic Health Records (EHR) in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Work within a multidisciplinary team: Participate in clinical supervision and team collaborative meetings. Work alongside community-based providers to support our clients
What You’ll Need
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Behavioral Science (Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, etc.) preferred.
- Certification: Current Idaho Board of Alcohol/Drug Counselor Certification (IBADCC) at the CADC or ACADC level. Candidates currently in "trainee" status (SUDA/ISAS) are encouraged to apply.
- Experience: Experience in substance use disorder treatment is highly preferred.

Pay: $26.00 - $35.00 per hour
