Essential Job Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments and materials, adhering to strict infection control and aseptic techniques
- Assist orthodontists during procedures such as bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings with precision and confidence
- Take and develop dental X-rays, including panoramic and cephalometric images, ensuring proper patient positioning and safety protocols are followed
- Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) with Dentrix ensuring accurate documentation of treatment plans and progress
- Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions about orthodontic appliances, and assisting with patient comfort measures. Communication with patients and staff.
- Updating medical histories in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment by sterilizing instruments, managing inventory of supplies, and adhering to infection control standards
Experience
- Previous experience in dental assisting with a focus on orthodontics is highly preferred; EFDA is required.
- Proficiency in EMR systems (Dentrix) for managing medical records and documentation is recommended, but will train.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to orthodontics and general dentistry.
- Hands-on experience with X-ray procedures, 3D scanners, medical imaging techniques, and dental radiography safety protocols
- Understanding of infection control practices including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures in a dental clinic setting
- Ability to work as a team member
- Strong communication skills.

Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
