Job Summary
Provide optimum assistance to the benefits department in administering an effective benefits program for all Vandalia Health employees.
Responsibilities
- Complete projects and assignments from the benefits consultants, associates or management.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the company's benefit policies and procedures.
- Create reports as needed.
- Assist the benefits consultants, associates and management in all aspects of administering of the benefits plans.
- Assist the benefit consultants, associates and/or manager in administering retiree programs.
- Participate as an active member on assigned teams to accomplish department, Human Resources, and system goals.
- Initiate and answer routine correspondence, inquiries or telephone calls.
- Back-up leave management FMLA request line as needed.
- Maintain routine service level responsibility for assigned functions (i.e. LOA or STD process, billing, etc.)
- Code, submit, and manage invoice payments as needed.
- Monitor and maintain supplies for the Compensation, Benefits, and leave management teams.
- Maintain and document all applicable required education.
- Demonstrate positive customer service and co-worker relations.
- Participate in the continuous, quality improvement activities of the department and institution.
- Perform work in alignment with the overall mission and strategic plan of the organization.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Patient Group Knowledge (Only applies to positions with direct patient contact)
The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department’s identified patient ages. Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.

- Bachelor's Degree (Required) Experience: No prior experience required Substitution: The following may be substituted for the bachelor's degree: Associates Degree with 2 years of relevant experience or 7 years relevant experience or applicable certification with 2 years of relevant experience.
