Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Drywall Patcher to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for repairing, patching, and finishing drywall surfaces to ensure a smooth, seamless appearance that meets high-quality standards. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and removing damaged drywall or plaster before patching or repairing.
- Measure and cut drywall materials accurately using hand tools and power tools to fit specific areas.
- Apply drywall mud (joint compound) with trowels or taping knives to seal joints and cover fasteners for a flawless finish.
- Tape joints and corners using drywall tape, ensuring smooth transitions between panels.
- Texture walls with various techniques to match existing finishes or achieve desired aesthetic effects.
- Repair water damage or mold-affected drywall by removing compromised sections and replacing them with new material.
- Follow construction plans and blueprints precisely while adhering to safety protocols and workplace regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in drywall installation, patching, mudding, taping, and texturing within a construction environment.
- Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and construction plans.
- Skilled in using hand tools such as knives, trowels, sanders, and measuring tapes along with power tools like drills and saws.
- Knowledge of construction safety regulations including OSHA standards related to drywall work and general construction sites.
- Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret technical drawings for precise project execution.
- Experience with related trades such as metal stud framing, trim carpentry, plastering, stucco application, flooring installation, or fixture installation is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail coupled with excellent problem-solving skills for effective drywall repair and restoration projects.
- Valid experience in construction site environments with a focus on safety protocol adherence and quality workmanship.
