Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed client assessments, including diagnostic evaluations utilizing DSM-5 criteria and ICD coding standards, to develop personalized treatment plans.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing.
- Deliver specialized care for clients with co-occurring disorders, substance use issues, PTSD, and behavioral health conditions through tailored interventions like addiction counseling and crisis management.
- Manage clinical documentation adhering to HIPAA regulations, maintaining accurate medical records within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with medical documentation standards.
- Facilitate intake processes, case management activities, and ongoing client communication to support recovery goals and behavioral health improvements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate home and community care services, ensuring holistic support for clients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Engage in continuous professional development by participating in research initiatives, data collection efforts, and staying current with DSM-5 updates and ICD coding practices.
Skills
- Proven expertise in psychotherapy modalities including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and evidence-based practices.
- Strong experience working with individuals with substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, trauma-related conditions such as PTSD, and mental health challenges.
- Skilled in crisis intervention techniques and crisis management strategies to ensure immediate safety and stabilization.
- Excellent client assessment skills combined with the ability to develop effective treatment plans aligned with clinical standards like DSM-5 and ICD coding.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems for medical documentation, patient records management, and CPT coding procedures.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to mental health care settings along with HIPAA compliance requirements for maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Ability to work effectively with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds while delivering culturally competent care.
- Strong communication skills for client engagement, case management coordination, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
