Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Jr Science After-School Instructor to ignite curiosity and foster a love for science among young learners. In this role, you will lead engaging, hands-on science activities in an after-school setting, creating a safe and inspiring environment for children to explore the wonders of science. Duties
- Learn and deliver our prepared, age-appropriate science lessons and experiments
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Supervise children during activities, outdoor play, and transitions to promote safety and engagement
- Implement safety protocols and emergency response plans
- Foster teamwork and collaboration among students through group activities and youth programs
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in educational, camp, or childcare settings is highly preferred
- Demonstrated classroom management skills with the ability to handle diverse behaviors effectively
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and experience teaching young children in informal or formal settings is highly preferred but not required.
- Certifications in first aid, CPR, AED operation, or related safety training are preferred but not required
- Experience facilitating youth programs, outdoor activities, or educational programs is a plus
- Background in special education or working with children with special needs is advantageous
- Proven ability to lead team activities, manage behavior management strategies, and foster positive youth development
- While it is not required, a strong comfort level and basic educational foundation in scientific concepts is highly desirable
