Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver dynamic physical education lessons that incorporate curriculum standards, educational technology, and differentiated instruction techniques.
- Coach students in a variety of sports, fitness activities, and extracurricular athletic programs to enhance teamwork, sportsmanship, and physical skills.
- Assess student performance using data analysis tools, standardized testing results, and observational techniques to tailor instruction effectively.
- Manage classroom behavior through proactive strategies, ensuring a safe, respectful, and motivating environment for all learners.
- Collaborate with faculty on curriculum development, instructional modifications, and integrating learning technology to support diverse learning needs.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, behavior management strategies, and upcoming athletic events or initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance data, and compliance with educational regulations related to physical education.
Skills
- Proven experience teaching physical education to children across various age groups, including early childhood education and preschool settings.
- Strong classroom management skills combined with expertise in behavior management strategies for students with autism or special education needs.
- Knowledge of LMS (Learning Management Systems) and educational technology integration to enhance lesson delivery.
- Excellent communication skills for effective parent engagement and faculty collaboration.
- Ability to adapt instruction based on different learning styles and cultural backgrounds while implementing curriculum modifications as needed.
- Familiarity with childhood development principles, literacy education basics related to health literacy, and math concepts applicable in fitness contexts.
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds in private school or Montessori environments is highly desirable.
