We are hiring a Mold Maker Technician for our RESRG Automotive facility in Covington, GA. With a global footprint across four continents and a commitment to sustainability, RESRG Automotive specializes in advanced exterior and interior systems, offering cutting-edge technologies to meet the evolving demands of the automotive industry.
The schedule is for 3rd shift but will train on 1st shift for initial training.
What Will You Do In Your Role?
- Clean and Inspect injection molds, tool and die in normal PM process
- Performs final fitting operations on purchased / repaired components for proper assembly
- Performs the highly critical assembly operations, refitting, reventing or adjusting as necessary for the mold to achieve designed objectives
- Maintains equipment maintenance and repair history records, details of work performed, parts replaced, and the labor hours, as required
- Install/fabricate replacement components as needed
- Trouble shoot mold and die issues in the shop as well as in current production
- Study specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualizes
product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts.
- Work in a fast-paced environment in a safe manner
- Computes dimensions, plans layout, and determines assembly method and sequence of operations
- Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machine, and grinder, to machine parts, and verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications
- Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances
- Develops specifications from general descriptions for specialty tools and draws or sketches design of product
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 50-75 lbs. on occasion
- Ability to work in fluctuating temperatures & outdoors on occasion as needed
- Frequently required to stand and walk; use hands to finger manipulation, handle, and feel; reach with arms and hands above head; talk and hear
- Sometimes required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit
- Specific vision requirements: close, distant, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Minimum Qualifications
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in developing interpersonal relationships
- Highly motivated self-starting individual who is comfortable working as part of a team
- Mathematically inclined
- Minimum of 4 years in the field and experience with tool shop machines
- Analytical problem solver with a mindset of continual improvement
- Must be familiar with electrical and hydraulic circuits using diagrams, blueprints, and electrical circuit test meters and methods
- Must be willing and able to work 3rd shift, including occasional weekends
What will Put Ahead
- Fabrication skills such as welding/metal working.
- Past experience in tool and die and injection molding
- Laser welding experience
- Texture and Grain repair experience
- Two shot mold experience
- Experience using tools/shop equipment (i.e.: grinders, belt sander, bandsaw, drills, mills, lathe)
- Forklift experience
- Overhead crane experience
