We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Operations Support Specialist to join our Supply Chain team. This role supports production planning, purchasing, material coordination, supplier communication, and inbound logistics to help ensure materials are available and production schedules can be met.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and proactive in identifying and resolving potential material, scheduling, or delivery issues.
Responsibilities
- Support production planning by monitoring material availability, open orders, and scheduled production needs.
- Assist with maintaining and communicating production schedules and identifying material constraints that could impact planned production.
- Support purchasing activities, including preparing, maintaining, and tracking purchase orders.
- Communicate with suppliers to confirm orders, track delivery dates, resolve delays, and expedite or de-expedite orders as needed.
- Coordinate and route inbound freight based on scheduled material needs, balancing delivery timing and transportation cost.
- Track critical inbound shipments and communicate delays or changes that could impact production.
- Maintain accurate purchasing, planning, and shipment information using spreadsheets and company tracking tools.
- Assist in resolving order, pricing, receiving, freight, inventory, and quality-related discrepancies.
- Collaborate with Production, Purchasing, Sales, Quality, Warehouse, Finance, and other teams to resolve scheduling and supply chain issues.
- Provide backup and operational support across planning, purchasing, and supply chain functions as needed.
- Assist with process improvements and other supply chain projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, Operations, or a related field preferred; relevant experience will also be considered.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, freight carriers, and internal teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to proactively identify and follow up on issues.
- Ability to manage changing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Experience
- Planning, purchasing, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience coordinating inbound freight or working with freight carriers.
- Familiarity with production scheduling, purchase orders, material planning, and inventory management.
