Overview
APK! Academy Eldridge is seeking a reliable, hands-on Lead Teacher / Floor Supervisor to support daily classroom operations, staff, and overall center flow.
This position is a working leadership role, meaning you will both lead and support staff while also stepping into classrooms as needed to maintain ratios, provide coverage, and ensure a structured, positive environment for children.
We are looking for someone who is dependable, confident, and team-oriented, with the ability to lead by example and maintain consistency throughout the center.
Responsibilities
- Support daily operations and ensure classrooms are running smoothly
- Step into classrooms as needed to maintain ratios and provide coverage
- Assist teachers with classroom management, transitions, and routines
- Monitor and support staff to ensure expectations and standards are being followed
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment throughout the center
- Review lesson plan implementation and daily classroom activities
- Support communication with staff and assist with problem-solving as needed
- Model professionalism, reliability, and positive interactions at all times
- Assist with maintaining licensing standards and center compliance
- Help ensure a structured and consistent environment for children and staff
Qualifications
- Experience working in a childcare or early learning environment required
- Strong reliability and consistent attendance is a must
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and adapt quickly throughout the day
- Comfortable stepping into any classroom when needed
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lead by example and support a team in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of classroom structure, routines, and child development
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Must meet state requirements for childcare staff
Pay: $14.50 - $17.00 per hour
