The Role:
As our Estimator/Project Manager, you will identify profitable opportunities, bid them accurately, and then step into the field to ensure our foremen and operators execute the plan on time and under budget.
Duties
- Prepare detailed construction estimates for earthwork and grading projects.
- Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers through effective negotiation to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms.
- Develop comprehensive project budgets, including cost control measures to monitor expenses throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage all aspects of project planning, scheduling, and coordination to ensure timely completion of earthwork operations.
- Review and interpret construction contracts, ensuring compliance with specifications, safety standards, and legal requirements.
- Oversee construction site activities to verify work quality, safety adherence, and progress against project plans.
- Utilize construction management tools to track project milestones, costs, and resource allocation efficiently.
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders to provide updates on project status, potential risks, and solutions for any issues that arise.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction estimating and project management within earthwork or grading sectors.
- Strong knowledge of heavy civil construction processes including excavation, grading, soil stabilization, and site preparation.
- Familiarity with industry-standard estimating software.
- Demonstrated ability to develop accurate cost estimates based on detailed plans and specifications.
- Construction site experience that provides a solid understanding of field operations and safety protocols.
- Understanding of contracts and legal considerations in construction projects.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
