Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Experienced HVAC Service Technician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, and mechanical systems across various commercial and residential properties. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems.
- Install, troubleshoot, and service mechanical systems such as plumbing, electrical components, and refrigeration units using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to maximize system longevity and efficiency while minimizing downtime.
- Use specialized tools such as ohmmeters, welding equipment, and other diagnostic instruments to identify issues accurately.
- Repair or replace mechanical components including motors, compressors, valves, pumps, and electrical wiring while adhering to safety standards like EPA regulations for refrigerants.
- Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design documents to ensure precise installation and repairs.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete work orders promptly, and communicate effectively with clients regarding system status or required upgrades.
Skills
- Proven experience in construction or property maintenance environments with a focus on HVAC/R systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair, welding, boiler operation, and ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Expertise in electrical diagnostics with the ability to troubleshoot wiring issues using multimeters or ohmmeters.
- Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) for controlling HVAC functions efficiently.
- Knowledge of plumbing systems related to HVAC applications along with appliance repair skills.
- Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications such as HVAC/R license are preferred.
- Ability to read schematics accurately and apply HVAC design principles during installations or repairs.
- Experience operating field service vehicles with a valid driver’s license; familiarity with Ammonia refrigeration is a plus.
- Mechanical aptitude combined with excellent problem-solving skills; ability to work independently or as part of a team in diverse settings.
