Job Title: Camp Counselor

The Lakeland Hills Family YMCA is looking for enthusiastic Camp Counselors to help create an unforgettable camp experience for children in our community. If you love staying active, building relationships, and being a role model, this is the job for you.
Location: Lakeland Hills Family YMCA, Mountain Lakes, NJ
Dates: June 22nd – August 14th (Optional add on of August 17 – 21st)
Required orientations (1 needed) runs throughout June 1- 14 (Evenings/Weekends)
Shifts: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM OR 9:00 AM – 5:30PM
Full program and partial program positions available.
Type of Counselors Needed:
Dance/STEM Academy Counselors
As a Camp Counselor, you will:
Supervise and engage a group of campers throughout the day
Lead and participate in activities including:
Theme days and special events
Create a safe, fun, and inclusive environment for every child
Build positive relationships with campers and parents
Follow YMCA safety standards and child protection policies
Collaborate with Camp Directors, Assistant Directors, and Activity Leaders
Greet campers daily and ensure smooth transitions throughout the day
Specialty Counselors may have additional and/or different job duties.

Entering first year of college, or equivalent.
Prior experience working with children.
Specialty Counselors Qualifications
Dance/STEM Academy Counselors
Dance Experience required
Extensive gaming/competitive gaming experience and knowledge.
Prior coaching experience.
First Aid, CPR and AED certified or willing to be
