Job Description
Everett Lynn Enterprise is a locally owned excavation and trucking company based in Summit County, Utah. We are looking for a dependable Fleet/Diesel Maintenance Technician to help keep our fleet and equipment clean, serviced, and ready to work.
This role is ideal for someone with mechanical aptitude who enjoys working on trucks and equipment but may not yet have extensive mechanic experience. Diesel technology students, entry-level technicians, retired mechanics, or individuals looking for flexible part-time work are encouraged to apply.
This position can be structured as part-time, weekends, after-hours, or potentially full-time for the right candidate willing to take on additional responsibilities. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, is self-motivated, and wants to grow alongside a fast-paced excavation and trucking company.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions):
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
- Complete oil changes, fluid services, greasing, and filter replacements.
- Conduct equipment inspections and identify maintenance or repair needs.
- Assist with minor repairs and basic troubleshooting.
- Maintain service records and communicate maintenance needs to management.
- Help keep the shop, yard, and maintenance areas clean and organized.
- Assist senior mechanics and vendors as needed.
Qualifications
Experience:
- Mechanical experience preferred but not required.
- Diesel technology education or training highly valued.
- Experience working around trucks, trailers, construction equipment, or agricultural equipment is a plus.
- Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus.
Work Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Must pass drug screen and background check.
- Ability to work independently and follow maintenance schedules.
- Strong attention to detail and reliability.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements:
- Basic understanding of vehicle and equipment maintenance.
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the company.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Ability to bend, kneel, climb, and work around heavy equipment.
- Capable of working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Additional Information
Work Environment:
- Outdoor-based work on trucks and excavation equipment.
- Exposure to noise, moving equipment, grease, fluids, and weather conditions.
- PPE and safety protocols required.
