The Ambulatory Admission and Financial Counselor Manager is responsible for patient scheduling, admittance processes, point-of-service collections, and financial counseling throughout the Madisonhealth Ambulatory Clinics and Surgery Center. This position will work admission shifts as necessary to provide coverage or shortages due to illness or leave of absence by admission staff.
This position manages the daily operations of the patient access functions to ensure efficient patient flow, exceptional customer service, accurate patient registration, and compliance with federal, state, payer, and organizational requirements.
This position will be the Cerner Clinic (CPM) Admission and Financial counselors Super-User expert to all the Madisonhealth ambulatory clinics. This Cerner CPM Super-User will be responsible to help on-board staff at all ambulatory clinics, will aid in the build of ‘new’ Madison clinics that are being built within the Cerner software system. This position will coordinate with other clinic supervisors on new technology within Cerner CPM module and will aid in training and educating staff at other Madisonhealth clinic settings.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Required Skills:
1. Advanced computer skills, knowledgeable in Cerner, (or other electronic health record admissions/scheduling), Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel.
2. Sets the example of excellent customer service and communication via verbal, phone or in-person.
3. Demonstrates the ability to lead a team, setting and achieving department goals, consistent with hospital and ambulatory leadership strategies.
4. Strong understanding of patient access workflows including registration, scheduling, insurance verification, authorizations, and financial counseling.
5. Demonstrates attention to detail and accuracy in patient registration and insurance verification process.
6. Knowledge of insurance requirements, medical necessity, ABN processes, and patient financial responsibilities.
Minimum Work Experience:
1. Minimum of 3 years in hospital or physician clinic patient access, registration, scheduling, or financial counseling.
Minimum Education:
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field preferred
