Midwest Institute for Nonsurgical Therapy (MINT) is seeking a dependable, experienced Surgical Technologist to join our outpatient procedural team.
We specialize in minimally invasive, image-guided vascular and interventional procedures. This is an excellent opportunity for a surgical tech who enjoys procedural medicine, working closely with physicians, and being part of a smaller, fast-paced clinical team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare procedure rooms and sterile fields
- Scrub and assist physicians during vascular and interventional procedures
- Pass instruments, guidewires, catheters, sheaths, balloons, stents, and other procedural devices
- Maintain proper sterile technique throughout procedures
- Prepare instruments, equipment, medications, and supplies for cases
- Assist with patient positioning and procedural setup
- Perform surgical counts as appropriate
- Assist with efficient room turnover between cases
- Clean and prepare instruments for sterilization
- Stock and organize procedural supplies
- Monitor inventory and expiration dates
- Follow infection-control and patient-safety standards
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, radiologic technologists, and other clinical staff
Procedures Include
- Peripheral vascular interventions
- Angiography
- Angioplasty and stenting
- Atherectomy
- Venous interventions
- Prostate artery embolization
- Uterine fibroid embolization
- Dialysis access procedures
- Other minimally invasive vascular and embolization procedures
Experience with all procedures is not required. We are willing to train the right candidate with a strong surgical or procedural background.
Qualifications
- Surgical Technologist experience required
- Graduate of a Surgical Technology program preferred
- CST certification preferred
- BLS certification preferred
- Strong sterile technique and infection-control knowledge
- Excellent attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced procedural environment
Preferred Experience
Experience in any of the following is highly desirable:
- Interventional Radiology
- Vascular Surgery
- Cardiac Cath Lab
- Endovascular procedures
- Ambulatory Surgery Center
- Operating Room
Experience with wires, catheters, balloons, stents, sheaths, and other endovascular devices is a major plus.
