Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Attendant (Caregiver) to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in various care settings. Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by observing and reporting changes, and maintaining accurate care records
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary
- Administer medications following prescribed schedules and document all medication administration in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Support clients with memory care needs such as Alzheimer’s or dementia by implementing specialized care plans and ensuring a safe environment
- Operate assistive devices like Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs to safely transfer clients, ensuring proper technique to prevent injury
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and follow personalized care plans that meet each client’s unique needs
- Provide emotional support and companionship, engaging clients in social activities to promote mental well-being
- Follow all safety protocols including CPR and First Aid procedures to respond effectively during emergencies
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in assisted living, home health, hospice care, or group home environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to monitor vital signs accurately
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities, autism, or memory impairments such as Alzheimer’s or dementia is beneficial
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely using proper techniques; physical stamina is essential for supporting mobility needs
- Familiarity with medication administration procedures and understanding of care plans is desirable
- Excellent communication skills with a compassionate attitude toward clients of all ages and backgrounds
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are often necessary for home & community care roles
