Established in 1958 as the North Essex Child Guidance Clinic, Northwest Essex Community Healthcare Network, Inc. (NECHN) began serving children with serious emotional disturbance and their families. Since that time, we have grown into an agency offering a comprehensive range of services, which include Outpatient Treatment, Co-Occurring Treatment, Addiction Services, Case Management, Crisis Services, and Partial Care. Northwest Essex is also one of seven “Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics” (CCBHC) selected by the N.J. Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services.

POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking a Clinician with in-depth knowledge of human behavior, DSM 5 criteria, and strong diagnostic skills, who is able to function as an independent healthcare provider who, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team, can provide diagnostic assessment and treatment to support our consumers and their families. Candidates who hold an LSW, LAC, or LPC or are seeking to attain their LCSW are encouraged to apply.
- The Clinician will be responsible for the following activities:
- Maintain an active caseload of clients, working with each consumer to help maximize their potential in their wellness and recovery process.
- Work with each consumer to develop a comprehensive recovery/treatment plan.
- Provide consumers and their families with individual and family therapy.
- Utilize evidence based and best practices.
- Make internal referrals to case managers, nurses, prescribers and peer counselors
- Use the agency’s Electronic Health Record (Carelogic) to document services in a comprehensive, concise timely fashion, within 24 hours.
- Maintain client confidentiality as part of all activities, complying with HIPPA and other privacy regulations.

Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling (Required)
- LCSW, LSW, LPC or LAC (Required)
- LCSW OR LPC (Preferred)
- Must have prior experience providing mental health treatment services
- Spanish Speaking a plus but not required
