Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, injections and treatments
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure cleanliness in accordance with health regulation policies
- Take vital signs, record medical histories, and update electronic health records (EHR) accurately using medical software systems
- Provide first aid and basic life support (CPR) when necessary during emergency situations
- Conduct triage assessments to prioritize patient care based on severity of conditions
- Manage medical documentation including charts, reports, and patient records while maintaining confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Educate patients on disease prevention, chronic disease management, and health promotion strategies
Experience
- Prior experience of at least 2 years working as a Medical Assistant or in a clinical setting is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and nursing principles is essential
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) management systems such as EMR/EHR platforms is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information responsibly and adhere to HIPAA standards
- Acute care experience and familiarity with emergency care procedures are advantageous
- Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional certifications in nursing leadership or chronic disease management are a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a healthcare team
- Bilingual spanish preferred but not mandatory
