Duties
- Prepare and assemble deli items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring quality and presentation.
- Operate POS system for retail sales transactions, including cash handling and processing payments accurately.
- Provide friendly customer service by assisting shoppers with product selections, upselling items, and answering questions about food offerings.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area, including food handling, sanitation practices, and proper food safety management.
- Restock shelves, organize displays, and ensure products are fresh, properly labeled, and rotated regularly.
- Assist with food safety procedures such as proper food handling, storage, and adherence to health regulations.
- Support other team members with bussing tables, cleaning workstations, and ensuring a welcoming environment for all customers.
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or quick service & fast food restaurant environments preferred.
- Background in kitchen experience is desirable; retail or grocery store experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively in busy settings while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with basic math proficiency for cash handling and retail math calculations.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures required.
- Experience with cashiering, upselling techniques, and retail sales transactions will help you excel in this role.
