The Quality Supervisor will ensure product quality and food safety expectations are met per WSI’s internal standards and customers’ standards, while maintaining compliance to regulatory and third-party requirements.
Essential Job Functions
- Assist with the execution and oversight of food safety and quality assurance systems.
o Review and update programs and procedures. Write SOPs and programs as needed to meet needs as defined by management.
o Create and implement training for new and current employees.
o Oversee monthly GMP audits
o Oversee corrective action implementation stemming from internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance to Quality and Food Safety procedures and programs.
- Oversee sanitation program implementation and on-going inspections and updates
- Manage the product sampling and retain programs.
- Assist with activities to support WSI’s on-going FSSC22000 standard certification
- Monitor all in-process samples and finished products per established quality methods
- Oversee WSI’s HOLD program
- Assist with investigation of complaints and provide the necessary information on corrective actions.
- Maintain all necessary quality assurance records
- Assist with all third party and customer audits
- Manage equipment testing and calibration; troubleshoot equipment problems and initiate corrective actions
- Manage the Documentation Specialist, and Quality Assurance Technicians
- Communicate effectively with management and other employees
- Provide updates, as necessary, to manager and other relevant members of the management team
- Assist with initiatives to meet approved continuous improvement goals related to quality and food safety
- Assist R&D with samples and projects as requested.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in food science, biological science or related discipline or 5+ years working in quality assurance.
- Prior experience in quality assurance role within a food manufacturing facility
- Proficiency in use of the Microsoft Office suite of tools, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- PCQI and/or HACCP certification preferred
- Experience and understanding of food ingredients, Hazard Analysis & Critical Control (HACCP) programs and Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards
- Knowledge of sanitation programs within a food manufacturing facility is preferred

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
