We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and organized Activities Director to lead and manage our Life Enrichment Program. This role is responsible for developing and implementing meaningful, engaging activities that enhance the physical, emotional, and psychosocial well-being of our residents.
The ideal candidate is energetic, resident-focused, and experienced in long-term care, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and person-centered programming.
- Full-time position with occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
- Plan, develop, and implement a comprehensive activity program in accordance with federal and state regulations
- Complete and maintain activity assessments, care plans, and progress notes in compliance with CMS and IDPH guidelines
- Ensure programming meets physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of residents
- Coordinate and lead group and individual activities, including evenings and weekends as needed
- Organize special events, holiday celebrations, and community involvement opportunities
- Supervise, train, and schedule activity staff and volunteers
- Maintain department budget, supplies, and equipment
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members for individualized resident engagement
- Ensure survey readiness including documentation and participation tracking
- Develop relationships with community partners and volunteers

- Must meet Illinois requirements for Activities Director in a long-term care facility
- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) OR eligible for Activity Director certification OR minimum 2 years relevant experience
- Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to engage residents with dementia and varying cognitive levels
