At Attention Dog Training is seeking a Professional Dog Trainer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a confident, structured trainer who values clear systems, ethical training practices, and real results for clients.
Our trainers work directly with clients through in-home and on-site sessions, delivering structured training programs designed to create well-mannered, reliable dogs and confident owners. We prioritize professionalism, consistency, and long-term outcomes over quick fixes.
This is a paid position with opportunities for advancement, bonuses, and specialization (including behavior-focused work for qualified trainers).
Responsibilities
- Conduct B.A.S.E. sessions (initial assessment and foundation training)
- Design and deliver structured training plans based on each dog’s needs
- Provide in-home and/or on-site private training sessions
- Provide Group Training Classes
- Teach obedience, manners, impulse control, and household structure
- Educate clients on clear, realistic at-home training expectations
- Maintain professional communication with clients before and after sessions
- Track training progress and session notes in company systems
- Recommend appropriate training packages based on client goals and needs
- Follow company training standards, safety protocols, and service guidelines
Behavior & Advanced Cases
Some trainers may be eligible to work with more complex behavior cases under our Canine Behavior Counseling (CBC) track.
Eligibility for CBC cases:
- Requires advanced skill, experience, and additional qualification
- Assigned at the company level
- Includes increased responsibility and compensation
(Participation in CBC is not required for all trainers.)
Requirements
- Proven experience in dog training or related animal behavior work
- Certification through a Dog Training Program or CPDT equivalent
- Strong understanding of canine learning theory and behavior principles
- Confident handling of dogs of various sizes and temperaments
- Ability to communicate clearly, calmly, and professionally with clients
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within service area
- Physical ability to handle active dogs and perform hands-on training work
- Professional demeanor, punctuality, and accountability

Experience:
- Dog training: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Certification in Dog Training (Preferred)
