Reports to: Floor Manager
Fort Thompson Sporting Goods is looking for a dependable, customer-focused Cashier to join our front-end team. This full-time, in-store role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys connecting with people, and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly at the register.
As a cashier, you’re the first and last face customers see—and a big part of what makes the Fort Thompson experience stand out. From ringing up gear to handling returns and online pickups, you’ll help create the kind of service our customers count on.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately process purchases, returns, and online order pickups
- Operate the register with speed, accuracy, and professionalism
- Answer phones and assist with basic customer questions
- Maintain a clean and organized front-end area
- Step in on the sales floor when extra help is needed
- Deliver excellent customer service with every interaction
Qualifications:
- Prior cashier or retail experience required
- Must be 18+ (due to involvement with firearm sales)
- Friendly, clear communicator with a customer-first mindset
- Able to manage high-traffic situations without losing your cool
- Self-starter who stays productive during slow periods
- Willing to learn about outdoor gear and our product offerings
- Dependable, punctual, and ready to work as part of a close-knit team
