We're looking for an experienced General Manager to oversee day-to-day venue operations while building high-performing teams and delivering exceptional guest experiences. This is a hands-on leadership role for an accomplished operator who thrives in fast-paced environments, leads by example, and has extensive experience managing people, driving financial performance, and maintaining operational excellence.
Position Summary
The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and daily operations of Decision Tactical, with primary oversight of the restaurant, bar, kitchen, and guest services while providing operational leadership and support across the entire venue.
This role works closely with the Director of Venue Operations and department managers to ensure consistency in staffing, guest experience, operational standards, safety, and financial performance. The General Manager will lead managers and hourly employees, oversee all aspects of hiring and employee development, ensure compliance with company policies and employment laws, and help drive the continued growth of the business.
We are seeking a proven leader with significant experience managing high-volume hospitality operations and leading large teams through accountability, coaching, and operational excellence.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop department managers, supervisors, and hourly team members.
- Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, train, coach, and retain high-performing employees.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and professional development.
- Address performance concerns through documented coaching, corrective action, and disciplinary processes.
- Manage employee investigations, terminations, and conflict resolution in partnership with Human Resources.
- Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, teamwork, and exceptional hospitality.
- Ensure all managers are effectively developing their own teams and maintaining consistent operational standards.
Human Resources & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company policies, employment laws, health department regulations, alcohol service requirements, and safety standards.
- Partner with Human Resources on employee relations, investigations, policy enforcement, and workplace concerns.
- Maintain proper documentation for attendance, coaching, disciplinary action, performance management, and employee records.
- Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment.
Venue Operations
- Oversee the daily operation of the restaurant, sports bar, kitchen, and guest experience.
- Support Armory leadership with staffing, coaching, disciplinary action, hiring, employee development, and operational needs.
- Assist with guest recovery and resolution of escalated guest concerns throughout the facility.
- Ensure all departments consistently deliver exceptional guest experiences.
- Monitor operational readiness, cleanliness, organization, and safety throughout the venue.
- Coordinate facility inspections, preventative maintenance, vendor services, repairs, and building maintenance.
- Support large events, private functions, corporate buyouts, and venue-wide initiatives.
- Provide leadership coverage during evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak operating periods.
Staffing & Labor Management
- Develop staffing plans that support operational needs while controlling labor costs.
- Create and oversee employee schedules for multiple departments.
- Monitor labor percentages and staffing efficiencies daily.
- Work with department managers to forecast staffing needs and recruit proactively.
- Ensure proper onboarding, orientation, and training for all new employees.
Inventory & Financial Management
- Oversee purchasing, inventory, vendor relationships, receiving, and cost controls.
- Monitor food, beverage, liquor, retail, and operational supply inventories.
- Track key performance indicators including sales, labor, food cost, beverage cost, waste, and profitability.
- Identify operational improvements that increase efficiency and financial performance.
- Ensure accurate cash handling procedures and financial accountability.
Guest Experience & Business Growth
- Maintain exceptional hospitality standards throughout the venue.
- Resolve complex guest concerns professionally and efficiently.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing on promotions, memberships, events, and revenue-generating initiatives.
- Support private events, catering, and corporate experiences through operational planning and execution.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
We are seeking a highly experienced hospitality leader with a proven record of managing complex operations and developing successful teams.
Candidates should possess:
- 5+ years of progressive management experience in hospitality, restaurant, entertainment, or multi-department operations.
- Extensive experience hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, disciplining, and terminating employees.
- Demonstrated success leading managers and large hourly teams.
- Strong experience with employee scheduling, labor management, and workforce planning.
- Knowledge of Human Resources best practices, employment law, compliance, workplace investigations, and performance management.
- Experience managing inventory, purchasing, vendor relationships, and operational budgets.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing labor costs, cost of goods, profitability, and operational performance.
- Experience with Toast POS or comparable restaurant management systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and high-volume events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading restaurant, entertainment, or attraction-based operations.
- Multi-unit or multi-department management experience.
- ServSafe Food Manager Certification.
- Experience with private events, catering, or corporate event operations.
- Strong understanding of facility operations, preventative maintenance, and vendor management.
- Interest in tactical training, experiential entertainment, or themed attractions is a plus.
