At Mockingbird MicroSchool, we intentionally maintain a 1:6 teacher-to-child ratio because we believe meaningful relationships are the foundation of exceptional early childhood education. Our classrooms blend Reggio Emilia, Montessori, and Play-Based philosophies to create an environment where children are known, challenged, and genuinely loved.
We've built a school where teachers are trusted as professionals, families are true partners, and children receive the individual attention they deserve. We're looking for an experienced educator who shares that vision and is passionate about providing children with an extraordinary early learning experience.
Who We're Looking For
Teaching young children isn't just something you do.
It's your profession.
Our ideal candidate:
- Holds a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, or a closely related field, OR has significant professional experience demonstrating exceptional skill as an early childhood educator.
- Has at least four years of classroom experience in a licensed early childhood program. Extensive, high-quality experience will be considered in place of a degree.
- Views early childhood education as a long-term career.
- Builds strong, trusting relationships with children and families.
- Communicates professionally with warmth, confidence, and empathy.
- Is dependable, organized, and takes pride in their work.
- Brings creativity while remaining humble, coachable, and collaborative.
- Is committed to continually growing as an educator.
Experience with Reggio Emilia, Montessori, or Play-Based education is strongly preferred.
Your Responsibilities
- Create engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences that inspire curiosity and exploration.
- Support each child's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Observe children's interests and thoughtfully plan meaningful learning opportunities.
- Foster a classroom environment where every child feels safe, valued, and capable.
- Build strong partnerships with families through open and consistent communication.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to continuously improve our classrooms and school community.

As our founder, however, my leadership has become increasingly influenced by Christian principles after a life-changing season in my own life. Those principles shape how we strive to care for our children, support one another as coworkers, and serve our families. The way I run the company is pointed towards biblical foundations; the curriculum that we teach students is NOT.
