Summary
A body repair technician is able to repair vehicle bodies and straighten vehicle frames.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Thoroughly examine the vehicle damages
- Return the vehicle back to factory specifications
- Remove vehicle trim to gain access to vehicle body
- Can properly fill depressions with body filler and insure a quality repair
- Able to remove damaged parts using power tools and cutting torch
- Bolt or weld replacement parts in position using power tools and welding equipment
- Straighten bent automobile frames using frame wrack
- File, grind and sand repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand tools
- Aim headlights
- Replace bolts on panels and align properly
- Make cosmetic repairs
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
- Use special equipment to restore damaged metal frames and body sections back to original specifications
- Able to develop appropriate and efficient methods for each job
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-4 years body shop experience strongly preferred.
- Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills required.
- Ability to work in a high performance, fast-paced team environment.
- Ability to adapt to and work effectively within a constantly changing environment.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk stairs and/or climb ladders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.
