We are seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving / Forklift Operator to support daily operations in our outdoor shipping yard.
Job Summary
This role is a hands-on position focused on the safe and efficient operation of large-capacity forklifts in an outdoor steel yard environment. The Shipping & Receiving / Forklift Operator is responsible for loading and unloading oversized steel pipe, working with truck drivers, and ensuring materials are handled, staged, and shipped safely and accurately.
Responsibilities
· Operate large-capacity forklifts (up to 80,000 lbs or larger) to move and stage steel pipe
· Load and unload oversized steel pipe onto flatbed trailers and 18-wheelers
· Assist with proper rigging, banding, and securement of loads
· Perform daily forklift inspections and report maintenance or safety issues
· Follow all safety procedures, yard rules, and DOT shipping requirements
· Verify materials against shipping paperwork and assist with documentation
· Coordinate with drivers, shipping staff, and production to meet schedules
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard and loading areas
· Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Qualifications
· 3–5+ years of forklift operation experience, preferably with large or heavy-capacity equipment
· Experience in shipping & receiving, steel, heavy manufacturing, or similar industrial environment
· Proven ability to safely handle oversized and heavy loads
· Knowledge of basic rigging and load securement practices
· Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Schedule
· Full-time
· Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
· Overtime as needed
Pay: $19.00 - $21.50 per hour
