A to Z Dermatology is a privately owned practice seeking a reliable, compassionate, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will provide clinical support to providers while ensuring an excellent patient experience and efficient clinic operations.
Responsibilities:
- Room patients and accurately document medical histories, medications, allergies, and chief complaints in the EMR.
- Assist providers with dermatology examinations, biopsies, excisions, surgeries, and other procedures.
- Communicate pathology and laboratory results to patients under provider direction and coordinate appropriate follow-up care.
- Process prescription refill requests and complete medication prior authorizations.
- Manage patient calls, portal messages, referrals, and clinical tasks in a timely manner.
- Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, medications, wound care, and post-procedure instructions.
- Prepare exam rooms, instruments, and supplies while maintaining cleanliness and infection control standards.
- Support patient scheduling, clinic flow, and other duties as needed to ensure efficient operations.
Qualifications:
- Medical Assistant certification preferred.
- Dermatology experience preferred but not required.
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and basic computer applications.
- Positive attitude, professionalism, and commitment to patient care.
