AC Smart Homes is hiring a Low Voltage Technician to install, service, and troubleshoot smart home, AV, security, camera, network, access control, intercom, and low-voltage systems.
This position is for someone who is hands-on, detail-oriented, and able to work cleanly in residential and commercial environments. Projects may include custom homes, remodels, restaurants, bars, clubs, office buildings, tenant improvements, entertainment spaces, and technology upgrades.
The ideal candidate has experience pulling cable, terminating wires, installing devices, troubleshooting systems, and working with network, camera, audio/video, and smart home equipment.
Responsibilities
- Install and troubleshoot low-voltage systems in residential and commercial projects
- Pull, label, terminate, and test Cat6, coax, speaker wire, control wire, security wire, and other low-voltage cabling
- Install security cameras, network equipment, Wi-Fi access points, racks, patch panels, and structured wiring panels
- Install TVs, speakers, AV equipment, home theater equipment, audio systems, and video distribution equipment
- Assist with smart home systems, lighting control, motorized shades, access control, intercoms, and automation devices
- Work on custom homes, remodels, restaurants, bars, clubs, offices, and commercial tenant improvements
- Read and follow low-voltage plans, wiring diagrams, device layouts, and project notes
- Test cables and troubleshoot wiring, network, camera, audio, and equipment issues
- Keep wires, racks, panels, and equipment clean, organized, and properly labeled
- Coordinate with electricians, project managers, general contractors, designers, homeowners, business owners, and other trades
- Maintain clean and professional job sites
- Follow safety rules, company procedures, and project requirements
- Document completed work and report job-site issues when needed
Requirements
- Low-voltage installation experience required
- Experience with Cat5e/Cat6 wiring, terminations, cable testing, and basic networking
- Experience with security cameras, AV systems, speakers, TVs, Wi-Fi, or structured wiring
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, ladders, cable testers, tone generators, and basic troubleshooting tools
- Ability to read basic plans, wiring layouts, and installation instructions
- Clean workmanship and attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable transportation

- Professional attitude and good communication skills
- Punctual, dependable, and able to follow instructions
- Able to lift materials, climb ladders, and work in attics, crawl spaces, ceilings, racks, and active job-site conditions as needed

- Control4, Crestron, Lutron, Josh.ai, UniFi, or similar systems
- Network racks, patch panels, switches, routers, and Wi-Fi access points

- Restaurant, bar, club, office, or commercial AV systems
- Motorized shades and lighting control systems
- Fiber optic cabling or fiber termination
- OSHA, BICSI, or other trade-related certifications
